Jenny Gaynor, a Los Angeles based artist known for her airy, almost
ethereal glass creations seeks to provide meaning to the things we touch
everyday, thus creating handmade pieces of jewelry and art. Using her
exceptional skills deriving from years of training under world-renown
glass artists in Murano, Italy, Gaynor's vision to defeat redundancy has
made her succeed in creating something that is truly unique.
Earlier this week, I received a kit in the mail to make a
Little Missy and I covered the soles of her feet in the child-safe ink and carpeted pieces of paper in her footprints, trying to get the perfect ones. The kit was easy to use, but a squirming child who wants to do it herself does not make an easy time. We finally succeeded and her prints were mailed off. In a few weeks, I'll have her prints back, but on a gorgeous glass charm. Turn around time is only 2-3 weeks, which is awesome considering.
If you are looking for a unique mother's day gift (I'm over flowers), Jenny Gaynor Glass has other beautiful jewelry. The Custom Silhouette Charm will give you a silhouette of the person of your choice on a glass charm. Charms are also available with initials and all charms come in a variety of colors.
If jewelry isn't really your thing, the Footprint Charm and the Silhouette Charm also come in larger plaque sizes for the wall. She also makes vases. Not just normal, pretty, glass vases though. These vases are made with your pictures baked into the glass. A vase could be themed with pictures of family, vacations, or anything you could think of. Any woman would love a vase covered in picture of her children or of her and her new husband.
In honor of Mother's Day, Jenny Gaynor is offering 40% off.
Yes, I said 40% off. I realize how awesome that is.
